Middle East Situation Delicate: Iranian Top Diplomat

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Israeli regime’s criminal measures and acts of adventurism have made the situation in West Asia sensitive, Caretaker Foreign Minister of Iran Ali Baqeri said.

In a post on his X account, Baqeri said he has held telephone conversations with the Egyptian and Jordanian foreign ministers.

“Tonight, in phone conversations with the foreign ministers of Jordan and Egypt, which was our second phone call in the past 48 hours, we shared our views on the process of developments in the region, and all three of us emphasized on continued talks between the regional countries,” he said.

“The situation in West Asia is particularly sensitive due to the continuation of crimes and dangerous adventures of the criminal gang ruling Tel Aviv,” Baqeri noted, adding, “Islamic states in the region should adopt a unified and firm stance and coordinated moves to stop the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the spread of the Zionist regime’s aggression in the region.”

“Iran is seriously determined to hold the regime answerable,” the caretaker foreign minister added.

The Israeli regime assassinated Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in the early hours of July 31.

Haniyeh, who was in Tehran to attend the new Iranian president’s swearing-in ceremony, was assassinated in a special residence in northern Tehran after being hit by an aerial projectile.
