Iran to Meet Sri Lanka for CAVA Women’s Volleyball Nations Bronze

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to Nepal in straight sets (25-21, 28-26, 25-20) in the CAVA Women’s Volleyball Nations League semifinals on Tuesday.

Iran, who had lost to India 3-1 in its opening match, defeated Sri Lanka, the Maldives 3-0 and Nepal (3-2) in its following matches.

The competition kicked off at the National Sports Council in Kathmandu, Nepal, on August 1.

Five countries, including host Nepal, India, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Iran, compete for the trophy.

Iran will play Sri Lanka on Wednesday in the bronze medal match, while India face Nepal in the final.

The event is co-hosted by Nepal and the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA).
