Iran Routs Turkmenistan in 2024 CAFA U-17 Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s football team defeated Turkmenistan 6-1 in the opening match of 2024 Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) U-17 Championship on Monday night.
Abbas Chamanian’s team will meet Uzbekistan on Wednesday in Group B.
Salman Ghafari made a hat-trick and Abolfazl Kazemi, Artin Rostami and Erfan Khodadadian were also on target.
Host Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan are in Group A.
CAFA consists of the national football associations of Central Asia, and runs competitions among national teams.
The 2024 CAFA U-17 Championship is held from August 17 to 24 in Dushanbe.
