Iran Sympathizes with Pakistan over Deaths of Pilgrims in Bus Crash
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry offered condolences to Pakistan over deaths of dozens of Pakistani Arbaeen pilgrims in a bus crash near Iran’s central city of Yazd.
In a post on his X account on Wednesday, Nasser Kanaani expressed his deepest sympathies to the government of neighboring Pakistan and the families of victims of the tragic bus crash.
He noted that the Iranian organizations were seriously doing the rescue and relief operations following the accident.
A bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims destined for Iraq for the Arbaeen pilgrimage crashed near Iran’s central city of Yazd on Tuesday night.
The accident happened when the bus veered off the road due to a malfunction of its braking system and hit the wall of a governmental building, killing 28 passengers and injuring 21 others.
