Ahmad Donyamali Becomes Iran’s Sport Minister

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian lawmakers gave a vote of confidence to Ahmad Donyamali to become the country's Minister of Sport and Youth.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian had named his picks for cabinet ministers earlier this month.

During an open session of the Parliament in Tehran on Wednesday, the lawmakers gave their vote of confidence to all of the nominees, including Donyamali.

Out of the 288 parliamentarians present, Donyamali secured 253 votes in favor.

Donyamali has served as the president of the Canoeing, Rowing & Sailing Federation, and has also worked as a member of the executive board of his hometown football club Malavan Bandar Anzali.

He replaced Kioumars Hashemi in the post.
