Iran Fails to Advance to 2024 CAFA U-17 Championship Final
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s football team lost to Uzbekistan 1-0 in Group B of 2024 Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) U-17 Championship Wednesday night.
Miraziz Abdukarimov scored Uzbekistan’s goal in the injury time.
Abbas Chamanian’s team, who had defeated Turkmenistan 6-1 in its first match, will meet Tajikistan in third-place match.
Uzbekistan will face Afghanistan in the final.
CAFA consists of the national football associations of Central Asia, and runs competitions among national teams.
The 2024 CAFA U-17 Championship is being held from August 17 to 24 in Dushanbe.
