Iran’s Iron, Steel Exports Up 0.6% in 4-Month Period: ISPA

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) announced that the country’s export of iron and steel products registered a 0.6 percent growth in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2024).

Iran exported 10.171 million tons of iron and steel products from March 21 to July 22, 2024, showing a 0.6 percent up compared to last year’s corresponding period.

ISPA added that 10.11 million tons of iron and steel products were exported from the country in the first four months of the previous Iranian calendar year (March 21 to July 22, 2023).

In this period, 1.105 million tons of steel products (long steel sections) were exported from the country, showing a 19.5 percent growth compared to the same period last year, IRIB reported.

The country exported 925,000 tons of steel products from March 21 to July 22, 2023.

In addition, the country exported 114,000 tons of flat steel sections from March 21 to July 22, 2024, the association added.

According to the report, 1.219 million tons of steel products were produced in the country in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to July 22, 2024), registering 12.7 percent growth compared to the same period last year.

In this period, 3.847 million tons of iron ore pellets were exported from the country, showing a 17 percent up compared to last year’s corresponding period.
