FM Spotlights Venezuela’s Special Place in Iran’s Foreign Policy
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The new administration of Iran holds a strategic view of Latin America, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said, highlighting the special position of Venezuela in the Islamic Republic’s foreign policy.
In a telephone conversation on Saturday, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto congratulated Araqchi on taking office.
He also expressed confidence that the officials of the two countries will diligently pursue the bilateral agreements and cooperation documents during the new Iranian administration’s term.
Gil Pinto stated that Venezuela is determined to continue cooperation with Iran and advance the issues on the agenda of relations.
Araqchi, for his part, emphasized that Venezuela holds a special place in Iran's foreign policy.
He also affirmed the continuation of Iran's strategic approach towards Latin America, especially Venezuela, under the new Iranian administration.
Referring to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian's recent congratulatory message on the re-election of Nicolas Maduro as the president of Venezuela, Araqchi condemned any foreign interference in the internal affairs of the friendly country.
The two top diplomats also expressed the Iranian and Venezuelan governments’ readiness to exchange high-level delegations and continue talks to advance the issues on the agenda of bilateral ties and explore new areas of cooperation.
