Iran Exports $1.5 Billion of Agricultural Products in 5 Months

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) said that 2.657 million tons of agricultural products valued at $1.453 billion were exported from the country in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2024).

The country’s export of agricultural products from March 21 to August 22, 2024, has registered a 22 and a 33 percent growth in weight and value respectively, compared to last year’s corresponding period.

In this period, Iran exported various species of pistachios, valued at $352 million, tomatoes ($177 million), apples ($111 million), watermelons ($108 million), and potatoes ($52 million), IRICA reported.

Greenhouse peppers, oranges, pistachios, apples and lettuce were the country's main agricultural exports.
