Iran’s Ex-Minister Appointed as Deputy Chief of Staff

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The former defense minister of Iran was appointed as the deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.

Last week, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh succeeded Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani as the defense minister of Iran in the cabinet of President Masoud Pezeshkian.

The former defense minister has now been appointed to the post of deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.

An event was held in Tehran on Wednesday morning to inaugurate the new military officials.

The ceremony was attended by Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri.
