Iran Condemns Israeli Assault on West Bank

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson strongly condemned the Zionist regime’s massive assault on the occupied West Bank, saying the brutal raids reveal Israel’s intention to widen the scope of massacre of Palestinians.

In a statement on Thursday, Nasser Kanaani vehemently condemned the Israeli regime’s major assault on the West Bank.

The Zionist army’s attacks on Palestinian cities and refugee camps in the northern parts of the West Bank, the brutal destruction of municipal and civil infrastructures, and the violent raids on hospitals are a continuation of genocide in the Gaza Strip and reveal the Israeli regime’s intention to extend the scope of massacre and crimes against Palestinian citizens, he added.

Kanaani said the escalation of Israeli military assaults on the West Bank, the intensification of desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the disclosure of provocative plots by the Zionist regime’s cabinet members illustrate Israel’s “sinister and racist intentions” targeting the entire Palestinian territories, the Palestinian citizens, and their Islamic sanctities.

The Iranian spokesman further praised the Palestinian nation and resistance groups’ heroic perseverance against the criminal Zionist regime’s killing machine in Gaza and the West Bank.

Kanaani called on international organizations, particularly the UN Security Council, to abandon inaction on the Israeli regime’s brazen violation of international and humanitarian laws and take immediate and effective action to stop the genocide of Palestinians.

Hundreds of Israeli soldiers are conducting a major assault in the occupied West Bank in Jenin, Tulkarem and the Far’a refugee camp near Tubas.

Israeli forces have killed at least 10 Palestinians in what is said to be Israel’s largest assault there in 20 years.

Israeli assaults on refugee camps and towns in the West Bank are a near-daily occurrence and have intensified since October 7.

At least 40,602 Palestinian people have been killed and 93,855 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 2023.
