Israel Orders Evacuations in Northern West Bank amid Ongoing Offensive in Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israel's foreign minister announced on Wednesday that the regime's army will order Palestinians to evacuate parts of the northern occupied West Bank amid a major military incursion.

Israel's army has launched raids in the northern West Bank, targeting cities including Jenin, Tulkarem, and Tubas, resulting in the deaths of 11 Palestinians.

In a statement on X, Israel Katz said the army was operating in Jenin and Tulkarem to dismantle what he described as "terrorist infrastructure against Israel in the West Bank."

Katz added that the operation includes the "temporary evacuation of Palestinian residents" in certain areas of the northern West Bank, similar to measures taken by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip.

The ongoing genocidal offensive in Gaza has displaced hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, with many forced to flee under evacuation orders.

Israeli forces have carried out regular raids in the West Bank over the past few years, with the intensity escalating since the war on Gaza began in October.

In the past 24 hours alone, at least 58 Palestinians were killed in relentless Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, raising the death toll since October 7 to 40,534, according to the enclave's Health Ministry.

A statement from the ministry reported that approximately 93,778 others have been injured in the ongoing assault.

"Israeli forces killed 58 people and injured 131 others in four ‘massacres’ of families in the last 24 hours," the ministry stated.

"Many people remain trapped under rubble and on roads, with rescuers unable to reach them," it added.

Despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire, Israel has continued its devastating offensive on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.

Over 10 months into the Israeli war, large portions of Gaza have been reduced to ruins amid a crippling blockade that has cut off access to food, clean water, and medicine.

Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which has ordered a halt to military operations in Rafah, where over one million Palestinians sought refuge before the area was invaded on May 6.
