Defense Power Shielding Iran from Aggressors: President
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian praised the Army for protecting the country against the “merciless criminals” that have committed heinous atrocities in Gaza, pledging his administration’s full support for the Iranian Armed Forces.
In a meeting with senior Iranian Army commanders in Tehran on Saturday, Pezeshkian said a country’s military power must be employed to serve its people, not to kill innocent women and children, like what the Zionist regime is doing in Gaza.
He lashed out at the self-proclaimed advocates of human rights for remaining silent on the Israeli regime’s bombardment of Palestinian civilians and hospitals in Gaza, saying those who claim to champion human rights have shamefully given a muted response to the Israeli onslaught on Gaza.
The president warned that the criminals would have committed the same merciless and brazen crimes against Iran if the country had not built such great defense capabilities.
He praised the Army forces for developing Iran’s military capabilities and creating a reliable defense power that have restrained the enemies from taking any hostile action.
The president also promised that his administration will take whatever action necessary to support and strengthen the Armed Forces.
In remarks in April, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei admired the Iranian Armed Forces for manifesting the country’s power and determination in the international arena by conducting a retaliatory operation against the Israeli regime.
In the early hours of April 14, the IRGC Aerospace Force launched a wave of cruise and ballistic missiles and drones against military targets in the occupied territories in retaliation for the Israeli regime’s April 1 airstrike that killed seven Iranian military commanders and advisers in Syria.
The Leader said the armed forces displayed a good image of their capabilities and might and also an admirable image of the Iranian nation and could prove the manifestation of power of the Iranian nation in the international arena.
