Zionists Behind Border Terrorist Attacks: Iranian General

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Ground Force held the Israeli regime accountable for the acts of sabotage and terrorist attacks targeting Iran’s border areas.

In comments at an event held on the inauguration of the new commander of a brigade of the IRGC special forces in the northern province of Gilan on Sunday, Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said a review of the hostile moves at the boundaries indicates that the enemies have hatched plots to strengthen hostile groups along the Iranian borders.

Investigations show that the Zionist regime has been the sponsor of the sabotage teams acting along the Iranian borders and that it supports the terrorist operations against the outposts and stations of the Iranian forces, he added.

Pointing to a shift in the tactics and equipment of the modern age’s wars, the commander noted that micro aerial vehicles and smart weapons play a decisive role at present.

In remarks in July, the general highlighted his forces’ preparedness to ensure sustainable safety across Iran, stressing that full security prevails along the country’s borders.

The IRGC has carried out extensive plans in recent years for the development of border provinces and underprivileged areas, such as in the southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan.

IRGC forces have also been involved in rescue and relief operations in natural disasters across Iran.
