Mexico Urges Gaza Truce

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The secretary of foreign affairs of Mexico expressed her country’s support for the Palestinian people, calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

In a telephone conversation on Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Mexican counterpart Alicia Barcena discussed a range of bilateral, regional and international issues.

Congratulating Araqchi on taking office and extending her best wishes for success and prosperity of the Iranian nation, Barcena expressed hope that the political dialogue and consultations between the two countries would continue.

The Mexican diplomat also reiterated her country's stance in support of the Palestinian people, stating that Mexico supports a ceasefire and believes that the violence and bloodshed in Gaza must stop as soon as possible.

For his part, Araqchi emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral relations.

He highlighted the significance of continuing political dialogues and consultations between the two friendly nations, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

Referring to the ongoing atrocities committed by the Zionist regime in Palestine and the broader region, the Iranian foreign minister stressed the need to halt these crimes immediately.

He also added that Iran supports any ceasefire agreement endorsed by the Palestinian people and the resistance groups.
