TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Ground Force expressed readiness to assist the Interior Ministry of Iran in the protection of the country’s boundaries.

A group of IRGC generals, led by IRGC Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour, held a meeting with Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Mo’meni in Tehran on Sunday.

The interior minister lauded the IRGC’s valuable activities in the military and construction fields, saying the force also plays a significant role in the protection of border security.

For his part, General Pakpour voiced the IRGC Ground Force’s readiness for cooperation with the Interior Ministry in ensuring the security of borders.

The IRGC has carried out extensive plans in recent years for the development of border provinces and underprivileged areas, such as in the southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan.

IRGC forces have also been actively involved in rescue and relief operations in natural disasters across Iran.
