Iraqi Resistance Launches Retaliatory Drone, Missile Strikes on Israeli Targets
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Resistance in Iraq carried out two significant attacks on Israeli military positions in occupied Palestine, using drones and missiles, in response to ongoing violence in Gaza.
Iraq's Islamic Resistance announced early Wednesday that it targeted Israeli military installations in the Jordan Valley, deploying drones as part of its retaliation against Israel’s criminal acts in Gaza.
In a statement published on its Telegram channel, the resistance group, which unites various anti-terror factions, confirmed it conducted the strike "in continuation of our path in resisting the occupation and in support of our people in Gaza."
The statement added, "In response to the massacres committed by the usurping entity against Palestinian civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, the fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, on Wednesday, attacked a target near the Jordan Valley in our occupied lands using drones."
The group emphasized its determination, stating, "Permission has been granted to those who are being fought, because they have been wronged. And indeed, Allah is able to give them victory."
According to Israeli media, the drone strike hit the Ramon airbase, resulting in a fire. It was reported that Israel’s defense systems failed to intercept the drone. This is the first known instance of Iraqi resistance drones striking the Ramon base.
Additionally, the Iraqi Resistance launched a second attack, utilizing an advanced Al-Arqab cruise missile to strike a critical target in the northern region of occupied Palestine.
This follows an earlier operation on Tuesday when Iraqi fighters targeted a strategic site in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. That attack, carried out with an Al-Arfad kamikaze drone, was in direct retaliation for Israeli airstrikes on Gaza.
The group warned that it would continue its operations against key installations in the occupied territories.
Israel has been conducting genocidal military operations against Gaza, striking hospitals, residential areas, and religious sites since October 7, 2023.
The ongoing Israeli war has resulted in the deaths of at least 41,455 Palestinians, with the majority being women and children. Additionally, 95,878 people have been injured, and 1.9 million have been displaced within Gaza, many forced to flee multiple times.
