Iran Economy Minister Holds Talks with Uzbek, Qatari Counterparts


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance (MEAF) Abdolnasser Hemmati held talks with his Uzbek and Qatari counterparts on Thursday on the sidelines of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

The Qatari finance minister said in the meeting with Hemati that his country attaches great importance to its relations with Iran, adding that Iran has valuable experiences in various fields especially in financial issues.

He expressed hope that the Iran-Qatar joint committee will be activated in the near future following an upcoming visit of the Iranian president to Qatar, IRNA reported.

During the meeting between Iran’s economy minister and Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Jamshid Anwar Kuchkarov, the two sides emphasized implementing the agreements inked by Tehran and Tashkent.

Solving the monetary and banking problems between the two countries, developing the transit ties between Iran and Uzbekistan and boosting the value of trade by $1 billion were among the topics discussed by the Iranian and Uzbek finance ministers.
