Yemeni Forces Target Israel's Ben Gurion Airport during Netanyahu’s Arrival

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemen’s Armed Forces have launched a missile attack on Israel's Ben Gurion Airport, coinciding with prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s return from New York, in a show of support for Palestinians and Lebanese under Israeli strikes.

Yemen’s Armed Forces announced on Saturday that they targeted Yaffa Airport, referred to as Ben Gurion by Israel, during the arrival of Netanyahu from a visit to New York.

According to a statement from the forces, the strike was carried out using a Palestine-2 ballistic missile.

The attack was launched “in support of the oppressed Palestinian people and in response to the crimes of the Zionist enemy in Gaza and Lebanon,” the statement added.

This missile strike occurred amid Israel’s ongoing military campaign in Gaza and Lebanon, which began in October. The Israeli genocidal war has resulted in the deaths of at least 41,586 Palestinians and hundreds of Lebanese, the majority of whom are women and children.

Recent escalations in Lebanon have included multiple airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut, leading to the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, alongside significant civilian casualties.

Since the beginning of Israeli criminal acts in Gaza and Lebanon, Yemeni forces have repeatedly retaliated with strikes on Israeli-held areas.

Yemen’s Armed Forces vowed to continue responding to Israeli operations, stating they will "escalate as necessary in defense of Gaza and Lebanon" until the aggression ceases.

In a televised speech on Saturday evening, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement, expressed condolences over the death of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, calling it a grave loss for the Muslim world.

“The Zionist enemy is gravely mistaken to think it can break the resistance’s will by assassinating its leaders," Houthi stated, emphasizing that the resistance would continue to fight despite the loss of its leadership.

He added that Israel’s ambitions would fail, and assured Palestinians and Lebanese that Yemen would stand by them until justice is achieved.

On Friday, Israeli airstrikes targeted Beirut's southern suburb of Dahiyeh, destroying at least six residential buildings in Haret Hreik. These strikes are part of a broader escalation by Israel since its offensive on Gaza began on October 7.

Nasrallah, who led Hezbollah for over three decades, was elected as the Lebanese resistance group's secretary-general in 1992 following the assassination of his predecessor, Sayyed Abbas al-Musawi, by an Israeli airstrike.
