Iran’s Foreign Minister Goes to Beirut

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi traveled to Beirut on Friday to hold meetings with Lebanese officials.

The top Iranian diplomat arrived in Beirut on Friday morning.

“An Iranian plane has landed at the Rafik Hariri International Airport with Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on board,” the Lebanese National News Agency said.

Araqchi is expected to meet Lebanon’s caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and speaker of parliament Nabih Berri.

He is going to discuss the latest developments in Lebanon and the regional situation.

His visit comes against a backdrop of Israeli attacks on Beirut.

In the wee hours of Friday, the Zionist regime carried out massive airstrikes on the Mrayjeh area in the southern suburb of Beirut.

The Israeli military has also ordered residents of 20 southern towns in Lebanon to evacuate immediately, signaling a potential escalation of its ground incursion.
