Iran Produces over 300,000 Motorcycles in H1: Official


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The vice chairman of the Iranian Association of Producers of Motorcycles said 310,000 motorcycles were produced in the country in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to September 21, 2024).

Speaking in the first meeting of producers of motorcycles and spare parts, Majid Rezaei added that the country’s production of motorcycles in this period registered a six percent growth compared to last year’s corresponding period, IRIB reported.

He put the number of motorcycles produced in the country from March 21 to September 2023 at 290,000.

The official went on to say that some 615,000 motorcycles are annually produced in the country.

As a transportation means, motorcycle has played a leading role in the urban transit and in reducing fuel consumption and air pollution, Rezaei stated.
