Elon Musk’s Jump at Trump Rally Turns Into Viral Meme Moment
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Elon Musk made a surprise appearance at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania, but it was his unexpected jump on stage that took social media by storm, inspiring a wave of memes.
Social media platforms lit up on Saturday as users reacted to Elon Musk’s appearance at former US president Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
On October 5, Musk, the world’s richest man, joined Trump at the site of a previous assassination attempt against the former president in July. His attendance was a public show of support for Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, ahead of the upcoming election in November.
During the event, Trump introduced Musk, the owner of X (formerly known as Twitter), as the man who "saved free speech" and described him as a "rocket builder." Musk, wearing a black "Make America Great Again" cap and an "Occupy Mars" T-shirt, jokingly referred to himself as “dark MAGA,” a nod to a far-right meme.
As Musk took the stage, he waved excitedly at the crowd, leaping into the air in a moment that quickly became fodder for online humor. Social media users immediately posted memes and jokes, comparing Musk’s jump to a range of comedic scenarios.
Clips of Musk mid-jump were shared alongside images of chipmunks and animated scenes from The Simpsons on X, the social media platform he purchased for $44 billion in 2022.

One social media user even compared Musk's jump to a scene from Friends, in which the character Ross, played by David Schwimmer, flails his arms and screams excitedly when he finds a new apartment.
Several users coined the hashtag #dorkmaga, sharing the moment of Musk airborne with captions poking fun at the tech mogul.
"I was there, @elonmusk jumped higher than anybody’s ever seen. Some people were saying he’s the greatest jumper of our generation. Higher than Abraham Lincoln,” another commenter humorously exaggerated.

During his speech at the rally, Musk emphasized the significance of the upcoming election. “I think this election is the most important election of our lifetime,” Musk declared. “This is no ordinary election. President Trump must win to preserve the Constitution. He must win to preserve democracy in America. This is a must-win situation.”
