Iran’s Foreign Minister in Oman for Talks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foreign Minister of Iran Abbas Araqchi has traveled to Oman after a trip to Iraq.

Araqchi arrived in Muscat on Sunday night as Iran has stepped up diplomatic efforts in recent weeks to address the regional crises and put an end to the Israeli regime’s onslaught on Gaza and Lebanon.

The spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry said in an X post that Araqchi is in Oman “as part of ongoing consultations with regional countries”.

Esmaeil Baqaei noted that the main focus of the foreign minister's discussions with senior Omani officials will be reviewing regional developments and consulting on halting the crimes and aggressions of the Zionist regime.

Araqchi had “very rich discussions” with senior Iraqi officials “on the sensitive security situation in the region” during his visit to Baghdad, the spokesman said.

“Iran and Iraq are determined to intensify their joint efforts, also in close cooperation with countries in the region and other interested actors, to protect regional peace and security,” Baqaei said, as he accompanied the foreign minister on the visit to Iraq.

During his stay in Baghdad, the Iranian foreign minister held meetings with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, and President Abdul Latif Rashid.
