Israeli Warplanes Continue to Strike Beirut’s Southern Suburb

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburb Wednesday, targeting multiple residential neighborhoods.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the airstrikes hit three locations in succession, including the Haret Hreik neighborhood and a building near a school in the southern suburb of Beirut.

No information was immediately available on casualties or damage.

On Tuesday night, Israel conducted several airstrikes across southern and eastern Lebanon, killing at least 23 people and injuring 31, according to reports.

Since September 23, Israel has intensified its air campaign against what it claims to be Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of over 1,500 people and the displacement of more than one million.

The aerial offensive marks a sharp escalation of Israeli attack, which began after Hezbollah strikes in retaliation for the launch of Israel’s genocidal offensive on the Gaza Strip.

Israeli strikes on Gaza have killed nearly 42,400 people, primarily women and children, since October last year.

On October 1, Israel expanded the regional conflict further by initiating a ground incursion into southern Lebanon.
