Iran Won’t Renounce Right to Respond to Israel: Spokesman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry made it clear that Tehran will not forgo the right to retaliate against the Israeli regime’s recent act of aggression.

Asked by Tasnim whether Iran has received any message from the sponsors of the Israeli regime in the negotiations with regional countries following the Zionist regime’s recent act of aggression, Esmaeil Baqaei said at a press conference on Monday, “This is natural in the sphere of diplomacy and the messages are being exchanged.”

“Iran will not renounce its right to respond to the Zionist regime,” he underlined.

The spokesman stated that the Iranian administration is responsible for exercising the right to respond, adding, “Regardless of the exchange of talks, we are resolute and serious in (giving) our response (to Israel).”

Asked about Western governments’ call for Iran to refrain from a reaction, Baqaei said the US adopts the usual policies while its support has emboldened the Zionist regime.

He called on the US government to rein in the Israeli regime instead of expecting Iran to show self-restraint.

According to the Iranian Army, four of its combatants were martyred during the confrontation with the projectiles fired by the criminal Zionist regime in the early hours of October 26.

In remarks on Sunday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei emphasized the necessity of disrupting the flawed calculations of the Zionist regime regarding Iran.

"They’re making a miscalculation with respect to Iran… our officials should be the ones to assess and precisely apprehend what needs to be done and do whatever is in the best interests of this country and nation. They (the enemy) must be made to realize who the Iranian people are and what the Iranian youth are like," the Leader added.
