Muslim States’ Joint Efforts Needed to Stop Israeli Atrocities in Gaza, Lebanon: Araqchi
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s foreign minister exchanged views with his counterparts from Indonesia, Egypt and Qatar on the latest regional developments, especially the Israeli attacks on Gaza and Lebanon.
Abbas Araghchi underlined the importance of joint endeavor on the part of the world’s Muslim countries towards stopping the Israeli regime’s ongoing deadly crimes against the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
The top diplomat made the remarks during separate phone calls on Wednesday with Sugiono, Badr Abdelatty, and Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, his counterparts from Indonesia, Egypt, and Qatar.
Speaking with Sugiono, Araghchi laid emphasis on the need for the international community, including Muslim nations, to chip in common efforts at bringing about cessation of the Zionist regime’s atrocities as well as enabling trial and punishment of the regime’s ringleaders.
The Iranian and Egyptian foreign ministers, meanwhile, described the situation in the West Asia region as dangerous, Press TV reported.
They said it was imperative for the international community to take immediate and effective efforts at enabling the realization of ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon, and noted that Muslim states played a special role in such efforts.
Addressing Al Thani, Araghchi said the essential condition for restoration of stability and calm in the region consisted of joint endeavor by Muslim countries towards assisting the people of Gaza and Lebanon, and immediate cessation of the Zionist regime’s genocide in the coastal sliver and deadly attacks against the country.
Last October, the regime launched a war of genocide on Gaza that has so far claimed the lives of more than 43,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children. It also escalated its deadly aggression against Lebanon, killing 2,822 people.
