Israeli Settlers Set Palestinian Homes, Vehicles Ablaze in West Bank City of Ramallah

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hundreds of Israeli settlers launched violent attacks in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, setting Palestinian homes and vehicles on fire and targeting passing cars, according to Palestinian media reports.

The settlers reportedly stormed al-Bireh, a city near Ramallah, where they burned Palestinian properties and vehicles before moving to the main road connecting Ramallah with other cities.

A Palestinian woman sustained injuries after settlers threw stones at her vehicle, local news outlets reported.

The attacks occurred amidst heightened tensions across the West Bank, fueled by Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, which has claimed over 43,000 lives, mostly women and children, since last October.

On Monday, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas warned of what it described as Israeli plans to annex the West Bank and expel Palestinian residents.

"We warn of the grave danger posed by the plans led by the extremist occupation regime and illegal settler groups to displace the residents of Palestinian villages in the occupied West Bank," said Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi.

Last week, Israel's far-right finance minister Bezalel Smotrich called for full annexation of both the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Smotrich stated that Israel should make clear there will be no Palestinian state, reiterating his stance on expanding Israeli settlements in occupied territories.
