Sudan Facing Israeli Plot: Minister
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A Sudanese minister said his country is trying to foil a plot hatched by the Zionist regime and Westerners who have imposed war and sanctions on the African nation to plunder its assets.
In a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, held in Tehran on Saturday, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning of the Republic of Sudan Gibril Ibrahim Mohamed said he was delighted to be visiting Iran.
He described his negotiations as good, constructive, and aimed at further expanding bilateral ties between Tehran and Khartoum. Mohamed also expressed hope that the two sides would soon hold a joint economic commission.
The Sudanese minister also gave a report on the latest developments in his country and the recent successes of the Sudanese army in ensuring security in different regions.
He said the people and government of Sudan face a Zionist and Western conspiracy that seeks to plunder the resources and wealth of Sudan through the imposition of war and sanctions.
Mohamed warned that the Zionist regime is trying to broaden its war to the other countries in the region, stressing that countering the plot requires vigilance and solidarity on the part of Muslim and regional countries.
For his part, Araqchi highlighted the abundant possibilities of the two countries, saying Iran is willing and ready to expand ties with Sudan, especially in the economic and trade sectors.
He also voiced deep regret over the continuation of the war in Sudan and expressed hope that peace and stability would be restored to the African country as soon as possible.
