Larijani Reaffirms Iran’s Backing for Lebanon


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ali Larijani, an advisor to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, reassured Lebanon that it would have support from Iran in the struggle against the Israeli regime.

The sophisticated Iranian politician arrived in Beirut on Friday morning after a visit to Syria.

Larijani held separate meetings with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.

In the meeting with Berri, Larijani reaffirmed that Iran will stand by the Lebanese government, army, and resistance forces in dealing with the Zionist regime’s acts of aggression.

The Iranian officials is going to hold talks with a number of other Lebanese authorities, prominent political figures, as well as the leaders and representatives of Lebanese parties during his stay in Beirut.

On Thursday, Larijani visited Damascus, where he held a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
