Israeli Airstrikes Kill Five in Southern Gaza’s Rafah
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – At least five people were killed in Gaza on Saturday during Israeli airstrikes targeting various locations in the city, medical sources in Gaza told the Wafa news agency.
Three young men lost their lives and several others were injured after an Israeli drone struck a group in the Al-Janina area, east of Rafah.
Separately, two civilians were killed by airstrikes in the Khirbet Al-Adas neighborhood.
Israeli forces have been demolishing residential neighborhoods in Rafah near the Philadelphi Corridor, a border area adjacent to Egypt.
The military campaign, which has included a series of intensive airstrikes, is part of broader operations targeting multiple areas in Gaza, with a particular focus on the northern parts of the Strip.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza has sharply deteriorated, with families feeling trapped amidst escalating Israeli violence.
Hospitals are overwhelmed with casualties from airstrikes and artillery bombardments over the past 24 hours, medical sources say.
Eyewitnesses reported ongoing confrontations in Beit Lahiya and Jabalia between Hamas fighters and Israeli forces.
