West Trying to Turn Seoul into Accomplice of Zelensky Government: Russian Foreign Ministry

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – NATO is funneling strike weapons prohibited by the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty to Asia, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said.

"The Seoul authorities, supported by "like-minded people" in NATO, continue to artificially promote the topic of DPRK servicemen in the special military operation zone to increase forceful pressure on Pyongyang, acting in close partnership with the North Atlantic Alliance," the high-ranking diplomat told TASS.

"This, in turn, meets the goals of the collective West, which is seeking to involve the Republic of Korea in common efforts to pump up the (governmnet) of (Vladimir) Zelensky with weapons and thereby make it an accomplice to the crimes committed by Westerners," he added.

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister stressed that bilateral cooperation between Russia and the DPRK "is built in accordance with the generally recognized norms of international law and is not directed against any third countries, including the Republic of Korea."

"This has been stated publicly on numerous occasions, primarily by Russian President Vladimir Putin," he said.

"As for Seoul's linking its possible arms supplies to Kiev with the development of cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang, such an approach could lead to very negative consequences. It is obvious that the Ukrainian conflict has nothing to do with the Korean Peninsula," Rudenko said.
