UN Chief Briefed on Iran’s Efforts at Peace in Gaza, Lebanon
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi informed Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres about Iran’s diplomatic contacts and consultations with regional countries to put an end to the Israeli regime’s genocidal crimes in Gaza and Lebanon.
In a meeting on the sidelines of the UN Alliance of Civilizations Forum in Portugal on Tuesday, Araqchi and Guterres discussed regional and international developments, including the situations in Gaza and Lebanon.
Highlighting Iran’s pivotal role in advancing the dialogue of civilizations and cultures, Araqchi emphasized the importance of dialogue and engagement in resolving international challenges.
Pointing to the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza and Lebanon, the Iranian foreign minister briefed the UN chief on his recent consultations and communications with the regional countries aimed at halting the Israeli genocidal crimes and acts of aggression in Gaza and Lebanon.
Guterres, for his part, expressed deep concern over the ongoing crisis in the region and hoped that the efforts would soon lead to the establishment of a ceasefire in Lebanon and Gaza.
