Pezeshkian Offers Condolences after Azeri Plane Crash in Kazakhstan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian offered his condolences to his Azeri counterpart over deaths after an Azerbaijan Airlines passenger jet with 62 passengers and five crew members onboard crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan on Wednesday.

In a message to President of Azerbaijani Republic Ilham Aliyev, Pezeshkian offered his condolences to the Azeri leader and people, as well as the families of victims of the crash.

The Iranian president also wished speedy recovery for those injured in the incident.

Dozens are feared dead in the crash.

The Azerbaijan Airlines flight, which crashed near Aktau, a city in southwestern Kazakhstan, had 62 passengers and five crew members on board.

A list of 29 survivors, including two children, has been published.

The passengers included 37 Azerbaijani citizens, 16 Russians, 6 Kazakh citizens, and 3 Kyrgyz citizens.
