President Pledges Push for Makran Coasts Development

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed his administration’s determination to carry out plans for development of the coasts of Makran, located in southeast of the country.

Addressing people of Makran and the port city of Chabahar in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan on Thursday, the president said the administration is working on plans that would help in the development process of the entire country, particularly Makran.

“We are preparing development plans to clarify the path of progress and continue to take it with the cooperation and support of you. Our presence in this region shows the government's determination to resolve problems and eliminate discrimination,” Pezeshkian added, his official website reported.

“Naturally, when there is no discrimination, people find the ability within themselves to solve problems and provide practical solutions to existing challenges,” the president said, adding, “We in the administration are determined to clear the path for you… so that you can use your abilities to overcome the existing problems.”

President Pezeshkian described Makran and Chabahar as vital regions that possess rich resources and have good opportunities for growth.

"Together, we can utilize these capacities in the best possible way through cooperation and empathy, to eliminate discrimination," he asserted, noting that his administration attaches special importance to the areas that have been paid less attention.

“With cooperation and unity, we will move towards a brighter future and elevate this region to the position it deserves,” Pezeshkian concluded.
