TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian received an official welcome by his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon during a state visit to Dushanbe on Thursday.

The official welcoming ceremony took place at the Palace of the Nation, which is the official residence of the president of Tajikistan.

During the ceremony, the national anthems of the two countries were played. Then, 21 cannon shots were fired in honor of Pezeshkian’s visit to the country. Afterwards, the two presidents reviewed the Ceremonial Guard.

Following the ceremony, Pezeshkian and Rahmon began private talks that are followed by negotiations between high-ranking delegations from the two countries.

The presidents are set to oversee a ceremony for the signing of cooperation documents, and then hold a joint press conference.

Pezeshkian will wrap up his trip to Tajikistan on Friday morning, when he will depart for Moscow for an official visit at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
