Persepolis Held by Foolad: IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Persepolis football team was held to a 1-1 draw by Foolad in Ahavaz’s Foolad Stadium on Friday.
Isa Alekasir gave the visiting team the lead in the 39th minute with a header. Persepolis forward Ali Alipour missed a penalty in the 10th minute.
Foolad applied pressure on Persepolis in the second half, and substitute Abolfazl Zadehattar leveled the score in the 78th minute.
This match marked Ismail Kartal’s first game in charge.
As a result, Foolad and Persepolis remained in third and fourth place in the 2024-25 Iran Professional League (IPL) standings, with 35 and 34 points, respectively.
