Close Bonds between Iran, Azerbaijan Unaffected by Boundaries: Pezeshkian

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed that the deep-rooted and brotherly relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan could not be confined by the political frontiers.

In a meeting with the Republic of Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov on the sidelines of the Caspian Economic Forum in Tehran on Tuesday, Pezeshkian said, "We believe that political borders cannot impose limitations on the profound relations and connections between the two countries and nations, and we are eager to expand communications and interactions with the Republic of Azerbaijan in all areas."

The Iranian president described the forum as an excellent opportunity for enhancing economic, scientific and cultural cooperation, noting that the Caspian Sea littoral states can utilize this event as a platform to strengthen consensus, collaboration and management of shared issues, his official website reported.

For his part, the Azeri prime minister conveyed warm greetings from President Ilham Aliyev to Pezeshkian, affirming Baku’s commitment to expanding comprehensive ties with Iran.

Asadov highlighted the recent exchanges of diplomatic delegations between the two nations, emphasizing the dedication of high-ranking officials of both countries to improving their relationship.
