Israel Keeps Pounding Gaza for Second Day

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - At least 14 Palestinians have been killed in the overnight attacks by the Israeli regime across the Gaza Strip.

At least 14 people, including a pregnant woman and her child, were killed overnight in several Israeli attacks in southern Gaza and Gaza City that targeted family homes.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society said its staff have retrieved two bodies and rescued six injured people from the rubble after an aerial attack in northern Gaza’s Beit Hanoon, Al Jazeera reported.

The Zionist regime continues to target new areas across Gaza, including southern, central and northern parts.

People in Gaza are terrified, helpless, and devastated. The latest attacks come after 17 days of Israel’s blockade on aid into Gaza.

As the UN Security Council met to discuss Israel’s blockade on the Gaza Strip, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told reporters in Geneva, “We are again witnessing” an “intolerable level of suffering for the Palestinian people”.

Guterres said he is “outraged by the Israeli air strikes in Gaza”, joining a chorus of international condemnation as more than 400 Palestinians have been killed, including many women and children.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the new bombardment is “only the beginning” and that all negotiations for the shattered Gaza ceasefire, which lasted just under two months, will now take place “under fire”.

Gaza’s Health Ministry says at least 48,577 Palestinians have been confirmed dead and 112,041 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza. Gaza’s Government Media Office updated its death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of Palestinians missing under the rubble are presumed dead.
