Yemen Strikes Israeli Ben Gurion Airport, Targets US Warships in Red Sea

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemen's armed forces have launched a missile attack on Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv in support of the Palestinian people, a Yemeni military official said on Tuesday.

Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for Yemen's armed forces, announced early Tuesday that the missile unit targeted Ben Gurion Airport in occupied Jaffa (Tel Aviv) with a "Zulfiqar" ballistic missile and a hypersonic "Palestine 2" missile. "The operation successfully achieved its objective," he said.

In response to US military aggression in Yemen and attacks on civilians in Sanaa and Saada, Yemen’s naval, missile, and drone units also launched strikes on hostile warships in the Red Sea, including the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones, Saree added.

"The engagement, which marked the second in the past 24 hours, lasted several hours," he said, noting that US airstrikes against Yemen had failed.

Saree urged "all free people of the Islamic world to fulfill their religious, moral, and humanitarian duty toward the oppressed Palestinian people." He reiterated that Yemen's armed forces would persist in disrupting Israeli maritime activities and striking deep into Israeli-occupied territories until the genocidal war on Gaza ends and the blockade is lifted.

The statement followed reports from Israeli media on Monday night of missile fire from Yemen toward Israel. Air raid sirens were activated in Tel Aviv, Al-Quds, and more than 200 settlements across central Israel. Al Jazeera reported explosions in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and coastal areas south of the city following the missile attack.

Israeli media said the missile launches triggered panic, forcing a large number of settlers to seek shelter. Traffic halted in central areas as warning sirens blared. A protest in Tel Aviv calling for an end to the war and a prisoner exchange agreement was also dispersed as demonstrators fled to shelters.

A senior member of Ansarullah, Yemen’s ruling movement, said Arab nations should unite in support of Palestine. "Yemen’s words and actions are one and the same," said Ali Al-Qahoum, a senior official in the group's political bureau. "The United States and the world should brace for more surprises from Yemen."

"Our leadership knows how to deliver successive shocks," he said. "There is no room for despair. Under its leadership, Yemen stands victorious in the cause of Palestine."

He warned that today’s conflict is "an existential battle" and that those who remain indifferent "will pay a heavy price, particularly the Arab nations."

Earlier, Yemen's Defense Minister Mohammed Nasser Al-Atifi stated that the country's armed forces are prepared to escalate engagements with adversaries in response to evolving challenges.

Saree reaffirmed the ongoing operations against the US and Israel, saying Yemen’s forces remain committed to supporting Palestinians and responding to American strikes on Yemeni civilians.
