Iran Backs ICT Security Plans

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian deputy foreign minister expressed Tehran’s support for the efforts to counter cyber threats and ensure the security of the information and communication technology sector.

In a post on his X account on Thursday, Kazem Gharibabadi said he has held a meeting with Singapore’s UN representative in Tehran.

“Pleased to host H.E Burhan Gafoor, PR of Singapore, to the UN and Chair of the UN Open-ended Working Group on ICT Security,” the Iranian deputy minister said.

“Cyber threats are an emerging shared global challenge, and Iran fully supports the work of the Group and ongoing efforts to build a common international understanding in this field,” he stated.

Gharibabadi noted that the representative of Singapore’s visit to Iran “reflects our commitment to and the importance of international cooperation on information security at the UN level.”
