Coach Says Advancing to Next Stage Sepahan's "Top Priority"
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sepahan football coach Zlatko Kranjcar said the club's priority is to qualify for the next round of the AFC Champions League.
Sepahan is scheduled to play Al Sadd of Qatar on Wednesday in Group D of the AFC Champions League at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.
“It’s a tough match against Al Sadd. Two years ago, Sepahan defeated Al Sadd in both legs. The Iranian football team also defeated Qatari side in Doha. Now, we want to defeat Al Sadd once again since Sepahan has high-quality players,” Kranjcar said on Tuesday in the pre-match news conference.
“Al Sadd is a strong team and has top-players such as Raul. They could qualify for the next round, but our priority is to advance to next stage,” the Croatian said.
“We have been drawn in a tough group. Al Ahli of the UAE and Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia are strong teams as well. All teams have a difficult task to advance to the next stage,” Sepahan coach stated.
