Leader Urges Elites to Define Strategy to Better Handle Issues of Women, Family
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called for the formation of a high-profile center to lay down multilateral and workable guidelines and strategies on the important issue of women and family in Iran.
Addressing an elite group of Iranian women here in Tehran on Saturday, Ayatollah Khamenei underlined that a high-profile organization, independent of the three branches of power, should be established to produce perfect guidelines on the issues pertaining to women and family.
The Leader also emphasized that achieving a workable and far-reaching procedure for that purpose requires basic requisites.
Any organization engaged in devising plans for women in Iran should avoid referring to the western attitude towards women affairs, the Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei then lashed out at the westerners for their “flawed perception” of the issue of women in the society, saying the West is still pushing to promote that wrong and erroneous perception in the world.
The Leader also deplored the West’s scornful view on women which he said is based on materialistic values alone.
As regards other prerequisite to come up with a proper guideline on the issues pertaining to women, Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that the Islamic principles should be taken into account in that strategies.
And the third thing to care about, the Leader underlined, is to avoid dealing with unimportant issues and focus on the crux of the matter.
“The issue of family, particularly the woman’s health, security and calm in the family, is the main issue that should be dealt with,” Ayatollah Khamenei stated.
