No Agreement between Bahraini Regime, Opposition
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sheikh Ali Salman, head of Bahrain’s main Shiite opposition bloc Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, rejected rumors about agreement between the opposition and the Al Khalifa regime.
He said rumors about an imminent deal between Bahrain’s opposition and the regime are baseless, Al-Manar news network reported.
Prominent Bahraini Shiite cleric Sheikh Issa Qassem has also underlined that the opposition will not retreat from defending the people’s demands.
Sheikh Qassem said popular protests against the regime that aim to bring about reforms will continue.
He also stressed that the protests started peacefully and will continue to remain peaceful.
Since February 2011, thousands of Bahraini protesters have staged numerous demonstrations in the streets of Bahrain.
Pro-democracy rallies are held in Bahrain almost on a regular basis in defiance of the deadly crackdown by Al Khalifah regime.
