Kuwaiti Deputy PM Hails Iran’s Foreign Policy Approach
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister welcomed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign policy approach as constructive.
Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah said the dispatch of Iranian delegations to Arab countries of the Persian Gulf and to other parts of the world have had a positive impact.
Speaking to Deutsche Welle news network on Thursday, he also described the forthcoming visit by the country’s Emir to Iran as very important regionally and internationally.
The Kuwaiti monarch will head a high-ranking delegation to Tehran on June 1 at the invitation of Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani.
Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah’s trip to the Islamic Republic will be his first since he became the ruler of Kuwait in 2006.
The Kuwaiti deputy prime minister and foreign minister said the visit is especially momentous given the interim nuclear agreement between Iran and the six world powers.
Iran and the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany) inked an interim deal on Tehran’s nuclear program in Geneva last November, while the two sides are trying to reach a final, comprehensive agreement over the course of six months which would lead to a lifting of the whole sanctions on Iran.
Delegates representing Iran and the group of six world powers concluded the latest round of negotiations on Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program in the Austrian capital of Vienna last week.
The fourth round of marathon talks was aimed at drafting a comprehensive nuclear deal.
The next round of negotiations between Iran and the sextet will be held from June 16 to June 20 in Vienna, Austria.
