Beating Trinidad and Tobago Is Important, Assistant Says
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran national football assistant coach Oceano Cruz satisfied with the team's victory over Trinidad and Tobago in a friendly match.
The Iranian football team beat Trinidad and Tobago 2-0 in a friendly held in Sao Paulo on Sunday.
“It was a game that has fulfilled our expectations. We are preparing for the first match against Nigeria. Our only concern is Nigeria at the moment,” Oceano Cruz told Globoesporte.
“Victory is always important to create a culture of winning. This only happens with results like this,” the Portuguese added.
Iran will open its World Cup campaign against Nigeria on June 16 in Curitiba.
The Iranian football team is also scheduled to face Argentina on June 21 and Bosnia and Herzegovina, June 25.
