Iran Raps Zionist Regime’s Air Raid, Abduction of Palestinian Lawmakers

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s foreign ministry spokeswoman on Tuesday slammed the Zionist regime’s latest aggressive moves in connection with the alleged abduction of three teenage settlers.

Marziyeh Afkham strongly condemned the occupying regime’s air raid on Gaza Strip and the abduction of dozens of Palestinians, including the speaker and members of the Palestinian parliament, in the occupied West Bank.

She described the Zionists’ criminal moves as a forward escape bid that reveals the weakness of the occupation regime and its internal clashes.

Afkham called on international and regional bodies to condemn the aggressions and urged for serious measures to be taken to prevent such crimes from happening again.

She also called for the immediate release of the kidnapped Palestinians.

On June 16, Israeli troops kidnapped Palestinian Parliament Speaker Aziz Dweik and a number of lawmakers in a wave of abductions.

More than 150 Palestinians have so far been abducted under the pretext of the disappearance of three teenage settlers. Israel claims the teens went missing in the West Bank last week, accusing Hamas of kidnapping them.

Hamas, however, rejects the claim, saying Tel Aviv seeks to sabotage the recent reconciliation accord reached between the movement and Fatah, which led to the formation of the Palestinian national unity government.

In another aggressive move, Israeli warplanes launched an air raid on the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip early Tuesday.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
