Iranian President Congratulates Indonesian President-Elect
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday congratulated Joko Widodo on his election as the new president of Indonesia.
In a message to Widodo, President Rouhani expressed the hope that the two countries would strengthen bilateral relations and witness the promotion of Muslim world.
The Iranian President also wished the Indonesian president-elect good health and success, and prosperity for the people and government of the country.
The Electoral Commission of Indonesia declared Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo winner of the July 9 election with 53.1 percent of the vote.
