Cambodian Parliament Speaker to Visit Iran Soon

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Presidents of the National Assembly of Cambodia Heng Samrin is scheduled to pay an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran in the near future.

Samrin, heading a parliamentary delegation, plans to make a trip to Tehran on August 23 at the invitation of Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani. 

During their four-day visit, the Cambodian parliamentarians will hold talks with Larijani and some other Iranian officials on issues of mutual interest, including ways to promote bilateral relations.

Cambodia and Iran forged diplomatic relations back in 1992.

Iranian parliament has intensified measures to strengthen ties with parliaments of the other countries, following President Hassan Rouhani’s announcement that his administration will adopt the policy of constructive interaction with the world.

Delegations representing the European Parliament (EP), Italy, South Korea and many others have paid official visits to the Islamic Republic over the past few months.
