Carlos Queiroz Leaves Iran, Dilemma Continues
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz left Iran on Friday after validity of his visa was expired but it seems he will not return to the country.
Carlos Queiroz was supposed to extend his contract with the Iranian Football Federation (IFF) on Tuesday but two parties didn’t reach an extension agreement.
Abbas Torabian, IFF official, said Queiroz will return to Iran since the negotiations have not been completed.
Ali Kaffashian, head of IFF, had earlier said that the agreement with Carlos Queiroz is almost done.
In the previous days, Iran’s Sports and Youth Minister Mahmoud Goudarzi had warned the football federation to be careful about extending the contract with the Portuguese coach.
