Iran’s Lightweight Women's Quadruple Sculls Wins Bronze

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s lightweight women's quadruple sculls team claimed a bronze medal at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea on Wednesday.

The Iranian team comprising Homeira Barzegar, Nazanin Malaei, Mahsa Javar and Soulmaz Abbasi, finished in third place with a time of 7:37.24 minute at the Chungju Tangeum Lake International Rowing Center.

China’s team comprising Guo Shuai, Pan Dandan, Chen Cuiming, and Huang Wenyi finished in the first place with 7:25.09 minutes.

Vietnam seized the silver medal with a time of 7:28.48 minutes.

Some 9,500 athletes from 45 countries are competing at the Games, the world's second-biggest multi-sport event after the summer Olympics, with 439 gold medals in 36 sports up for grabs.

Iran has participated in the games with 276 athletes in 22 sports.
